UGC member Professor Tanjimuddin Khan resigns

Professor Mohammad Tanzimuddin Khan, a full-time member of the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh, is resigning from his post. He submitted his resignation to the UGC chairman on Thursday.

When asked, Mohammad Tanzimuddin Khan told Prothom Alo that he submitted a three-page resignation letter citing institutional reasons. However, he did not give any details about what was in the resignation letter.

After the fall of the Awami League government in the mass uprising on August 5, 2024, Professor Mohammad Tanzimuddin Khan, of the Department of International Relations at Dhaka University, was appointed as a member of the UGC on September 12 of that year. His appointment was for four years. But he resigned before that.

Earlier, Professor S.M.A. Faiz resigned from the post of UGC Chairman on March 16. After that, Professor Mamun Ahmed was appointed as the new Chairman of UGC. He served as the former Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) of Dhaka University.
